The Johan Restaurant

Graz 1997

A former 16th-century stable, 250m2, transformed into an international restaurant.

The original space and architectural features – the stone columns and vaulted ceiling – have been preserved and restored.

Heating and cooling systems have been concealed in the floor and in the thickness of the walls, functioning through new high-level window niches.

The sandy colour of the stone floor has been matched on the walls and ceiling with pigmented plaster and limewash.
